This salad dressing recipe goes together quickly from ingredients you have in your pantry. Try it and you won't ever run out of salad dressing again. It is also lower in fat than commercial dressings and has no added sugar.
Serves 4, about 1/2 cup salad dressing.

Ingredients:
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 2 T. water, milk, or club soda
- 1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper
- 1/4 tsp. dried oregano
- 2 T. minced red onion (optional)
- 1/4 tsp. chili powder (option #2)
- Dash cayenne pepper (option #2)
- 1 tsp. medium sharp mustard (option #3)
Preparation:
Thin sour cream with water or milk to dressing consistency.
Option # 1: Add broth powder (boullion), pepper, and oregano, crushed between your fingers, and mix well. Add onions if you like. Make sure they are finely minced.
Option #2: Add in chili powder and cayenne pepper to #1. Mix well.
Option #3: Add mustard instead of chili powder.
Serve chilled.

- with cherry tomatoes and carrot sticks as a dip
- as a sauce for meat fondue (Fleischfondue)
- on a shredded carrot salad
- as a dressing for a Waldorf-style salad
