This filling could also be used for cupcakes or muffins before baking.
Makes filling for 8-10 donuts.
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1/2 c chocolate chips or 3 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 T cream or half and half
- 1/4 tsp flavoring such as orange or almond (optional)
Preparation:
Melt the chocolate chips with the cream over low heat. Stir in optional flavoring. Pour into a shallow dish and refrigerate until the chocolate has set up enough to form into balls with your hands.
The balls should contain 1-2 teaspoons of filling.
Place filling on jelly donut halves, cover with a second half. Pinch dough circles closed. Let donuts rise 10-20 minutes and fry in hot oil.
