Buss und Bettag is a Protestant holiday calling for Prayer and Repentance which occurs the third Wednesday of November every year. It is also a feast day, for which no specific dishes are cooked. For dinner though, some consensus is found with Kasseler, sauerkraut and Knoedel, while others are making their first Gruenkohlessen (Kale) of the year as well as Roesti, Bratkartoffeln and Potato Gratin being high on the list. Nice, solid "Hausmannskost," all.
