fresh savory

Fresh savory is often added when cooking beans in the German kitchen. Whether green beans or dried, this herb is said to add a flavor you must not do without as well as ease any gastric discomfort which may occur. "Bohnenkraut," as it is known in German, is related to thyme and smells similar, but not as strong. For more about savory and its kitchen uses, take a look here.
